About project

Central Europe is a region traditionally characterised by co-existence of many cultures and ethnic groups on the same territory, confronting, and influencing one another. Project “Traces of the Past – education for the future” is an action which aims to restore cultural heritage of multi-ethnic regions of Poland to European people, and also - to restore cultural heritage of European countries to Polish people, to look for the connections among cultures. The project aims at teaching and promoting the history of the local communities and European regions, starting public discussion and reflection on past events and their contemporary meaning.

In the project "Traces of the past - Education for the future" we prepared special handouts for teachers. They can support the preparation process of your own educational activities, which aim at getting youngesters more sensitive to the cultural diversity.

Between 13th and 16th June the international conference Traces of the Past – Education for the Future took place. For the first time representatives from Germany, Czech Rupublic, Lithuania, gathered upon the invitation of Center for Citizenship Education; teams from Polish schools were not missing, as well.
