School's projects presentation

 

The school of Food and Chemical Industry in Gdańsk, Poland, is located in a magnificent historical building which was erected in the 19th century from 1834 to 1837. In connection with the participation in the project ”Traces of the Past” students have decided to start their journey in time to trace the lives of prominent students who attended those schools. John Hevelius, Paul Pater, Daniel Gralath belong to the most distinguished people of Gdańsk.

The 23 students of the project group are in grade 11 and are focusing in their subject Religious Education on the monuments of Eppingen. In this year they participate in program "Traces of the Past" and prepare project about Old Synagogue of Eppingen. They want to collect documentation of the history of the synagogue and its potential use and documentation of the architecture and its still present Jewish traces. (mikveh, wedding-stone, entrance)

Müsselmow project consist of several activitis. A Group of students and teachers participate in “denkmal-aktiv” [alternativ: in a restoration competition], school also offer a 10-day Müsselmow project every year in September/October to 17-year-olds (11th grade). The current goal is to rebuild the outer walls of a corn storage next to the church and to cover the roof beams of the church. At the same time 20 prospective restorators of wall paintings will be in Müsselmow, so that students will have the opportunity for a first-hand experience of restoration techniques.
